nice weather we're having

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Haha when can i actually say that sentence and mean it?

It's usually used for small talk and it's so funny na parang lagi nalang siyang "ice breaker" na pang-joke na parang wala na siyang sense at meaning. You know when you say a certain word for so many times it loses its meaning? Parang ganun. Haha.

Anyway, the weather was kinda weird today, when I woke up it was kind of dark pero after a few hours the sun came out and it was awfully hot I was practically melting and then it became windy (the wind was awfully unpredictable though-- it came from everywhere plus when it's there na it suddenly goes out bigla and then it comes back again and then... yeah so you could just imagine kite flying in that kind of wind condition).

Went home south today for Holy Week but will be back in Katipunan next week for graduation stuff-- I'm actually just looking for reasons to still go back there, I'm not yet ready to let go eh (aysus). Hehe.

Great day today. :)

you give me something

Saturday, March 27, 2010

You only stay with me in the morning
You only hold me when I sleep
I was meant to tread the water
But now I've gotten in too deep

For every piece of me that wants you
Another piece backs away

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something
Because someday I might know my heart

You only waited up for hours
Just to spend a little time alone with me
And I can say I've never bought you flowers
I can't work out what they mean

I never thought that I'd love someone
That was someone else's dream

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something
Because someday I might call you from my heart

But it might be a second too late
And the words that I could never say
Are gonna come out anyway

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something

You give me something
That makes me scared alright
This could be nothing
But I'm willing to give it a try
Please give me something
Because someday I might know my heart

Know my heart, know my heart, know my heart

yun lang. hehehe.

Save the environment!

Friday, March 26, 2010

More and more environment issues are rising as we go through our daily lives-- global warming, high energy consumption, and lack of clean water to name a few-- and it is only proper that we address these issues one by one to be able to, in a way, help save our world. There are actually many projects and movements that allows people to take further steps to take care of our environment, one of these is the Microsoft Hohm web site. Microsoft Hohm is a web service that aims to make a difference in our world today-- that is by creating more energy saving homes and spreading environmentalist tips and information to more and more people. At Microsoft Hohm, you will be able to find a lot of energy saving tips for your home-- the simplest things can actually mean a lot. I, myself, have learned a lot of things that I can apply to my everyday habits to be able to do my part in saving the environment. For example, I always use my laptop at home for internet use and for academic stuff, from Microsoft Hohm, I learned more about my laptop's power options like setting it to hibernate or sleep after a certain period of idle time or set its display to a lower setting to save more home energy. Energy saving is not meant to be hard-- it's just a matter of setting your mind on to it and try your best to start with the little things. Visit Microsoft Hohm's web site and now and get your own personalized energy saving tips and start helping to save the world. Start with your home appliances-- set your water heater to a lower temperature setting, replace incandescent light bulbs with LEDs or fluorescents which are more efficient-- things like that. Very simple things but can turn out to give you more savings financially and environmentally.

Konti nalang

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Last full week here in Katipunan. Of course, it gets me all sentimental and shit kasi imagine I've been here for five years now and wala lang. Tapos na bigla.

Parang kailan lang first year ako (long hair pa ko haha) tapos kasama ko parati si Gia kasi bespren ko siya poreber tapos kami lang ni Mayee magkasama parati sa CS hanggang sa lahat na tapos tumatawid pa kami parati sa CP Garcia para makarating ng MJEC tapos hello G-11 tapos nabuo yung Futakada (hi Paolo, Red, Jen!) kasi nakakatamad pumasok ng CS12 kay big-boned-momma aka Ma'am Florence tapos hanggang sa umabot na ako sa CS32 tapos dun na nawasak buhay ko at naging delayed ng one year dahil sa isang CUTE na prof tapos may isa pang lecheng prof tapos umayos na ulit buhay ko tapos nag-aral ako, uminom, nag-yosi, nag-starbucks, nag-mcdo, nag-jabee, nag-sisig hooray!, nag-flaming wings, nag-bo's, nag-emo, nag-kfc (how could i forget wow steak and CHOCOLATE MOUSSE HI JEUNE), nag-box-o-rice, huhuhuhu. Katipunan, I'll miss you like crazy. I'll surely suffer from Katipunan withdrawal. Hahaha. Huhuhu. Huhu.

Konti nalang.

was able to buy (and finish reading) two books today.

Hahaha.

Haven't read anything in the longest time tapos today was able to read two. Haha. Off to read two more books-- not tonight though. Haha! Maybe next week.

Last stretch na! Finals sa PE bukas (yes, may written exam @_@) and then oral exam sa PI sa Tuesday. Final thesis presentation after that. Pretty exciting but, at the same time, kinda sad kasi my life in UP will be over soon :( Ok tama na, don't wanna start getting emo again. Haha.

All in all, today was great. Ate a lot, laughed a lot, haha. Great day. :)

long week ahead

Monday, March 15, 2010

God, it's only Monday but it feels so much like the weekend already. Pero I have a lot of stuff to do pa for this week.

Thank God the 199 symposium is already over (yay yay yay) and, well, yun pa lang. Hahaha. Still have PI100 and PE to take care of. But no, may final exam kami (written) on Thursday and I have no idea kung asaan yung mga handouts kong kailangang aralin. :(

Huzzle sa muzzle.

But thank God for friends too. They really do keep you sane (or bangag) when you really need to be so.

Tomorrow, I shall work. Work, work, work. Promise. :D

Btw, I just liked this line from The Big Bang Theory (thanks Mayee, for introducing me to Sheldon. Haha.):

If I were in the world of emoticons, I'd be colon plus capital 'd'.

Haha. Yun lang!

I like the way your name rolls off my tongue.

I like the way you make me smile.

I like the way you make me long for you-- 'cos I know that you feel the same way too. At least, sometimes.

I like you in so many ways--

I like you the way you are.

And I hope I'm more than just this casual thing to you.

You.

Should.

Know.

That.

dream house

Friday, March 12, 2010

Roads are a definite part of our lives. We all pass through different roads (literally and figuratively) and these roads that we choose define every part of our lives. But let’s just focus on the literal ones and leave the figurative roads for another time.

You know at home when you want to have this very customized driveway or road or something that is part of your house? I’ve always wanted to, like, have this unique paved driveway at home or a nice paved walkway to the garden or the pool (assuming that there will be a pool at my house)—seeing the my dream houses, I couldn’t help but feel jealous that they get to have these very nice pavements and walkways. Some great houses that I have visited have interlocking paving stones which are very nice to look at and comfortable to walk on. For the driveways at home, they had driveway contractors that made their driveways unique and nice to look at. And, of course, my dream house has a pool so at these places http://systempavers.com/Gallery/GalleryDriveways.aspx are a must and I would really like to have that set up at my home when I get the chance. Ah, dreams—I hope they become a reality someday!

ah, weddings.

Weddings always make me feel tingly inside. Watching people get married, watching people so in love with each other, it’s just so amazing and it kind of gives you this hopeful feeling and wishful thinking that someday you will be the one with the perfect wedding and the perfect person. What excites me, also, is the fact that you get to prepare for this wonderful wedding that you want to have—you know, you will get to choose the designs for the gown, the wedding invitations, the place, the reception, the church—everything! The fun thing is that you get to decide what theme your wedding will be and you will just get to enjoy every minute of it because that is what you wanted. Now, there are even what they call wedding save the date cards which are a bit different from invitations but is kind of an invitation as well. You wouldn’t have to worry about cardstock as you will really get to customize everything. Once done with the wedding, of course comes the more serious stuff like insurance (which I think will really help out in married life and is a must for everyone to be able to be secure and confident) but no worries, let’s not talk about that anymore— let’s just look forward to the perfect wedding first!

Senior Citizens

In every family, we all have our elderly. They are the ones who brought our parents up, they were the ones who took care of us—our grandpas and grandmas who never cease to spoil us. Some families choose to take care of them—like ours. In our family, we live with our grandpa and grandma, we make it a point to always go out with them and spend time as one big happy family. But some families, like those in countries like the United States, have a lot of senior housing facilities. As people there are busier and sometimes there isn’t any time, really, to take care of the elderly. Our senior citizens deserve to be taken care of—especially those who already have disabilities or sickness. Old age does come with a lot of complications that is why senior assistance housing facilities may be able to aid people a lot—so instead of just dumping the elderly at your home and just ignoring them, it would be best to just send them to seniors housing Seattle or to seniors housing New York or to seniors housing in Los Angeles. There are many senior assistance facilities in the United States that will surely be able to take care of the elderly very well.

of steaks and insurance

Insurance really helps people a lot, doesn’t it? Before, we had a bit of a problem with our car – we got into a little accident-- and really, thank God for the insurance that we had back then! With our insurance, we were able to save ourselves from cashing out too much money and we were able to take care of the damages. Insurances do prove to be worth the investment, right? Many companies provide different insurance deals—and when you choose to get an insurance grant, you have to be sure about what you want and what you need because these things must really be the perfect fit for you and your lifestyle.

On a lighter note, steaks, anyone? I absolutely love steaks. There are a handful of restaurants that I would say could make me eat a mountain of food—and a visit to these restaurants could surely make my day! And would you believe that you can buy steaks online? Amazing, right? Anything can be really bought off the internet! Tasty, tasty, tasty kobe beef! Imagine that being delivered to you straight at home through steaks by mail. A lot of things change with the times but steaks and insurance may be two staple things in my life.

graduation blues

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

I think I'm the only person, right now, who doesn't want the sem to end yet. Haha.

Gusto ko nang grumaduate kasi gusto ko nang kumita at ayoko nang mag-aral pero ayoko pa grumaduate kasi I'm not yet willing and ready to let go of the life I've had for five exciting years.

Yes, I know I can look forward to a new chapter in my life-- that is, work-- and I can look forward to having the money to spend anything I want but I'm kinda worried about not having the people I'm really comfortable with around me. I mean, what happens if I get stressed out at work, sinong makakausap ko? Yes, of course I'll meet new friends pero iba pa rin eh. Iba pa rin yung mga taong kasama ko ngayon-- my college friends can never, ever, be replaced by anyone in this world.

Yun lang. Parang natatakot lang ako na wala akong mapupuntahan-- knowing that most of my closest friends are still gonna be here in QC tapos I'll be at Makati (or the south) all the time. Yun lang. Nakakatakot at nakakalungkot lang isipin. And then every time I look at the calendar, I see that I only have, what, two, three weeks left? God this is so depressing.

Haha, okay, hindi naman depressing. 'Di ko mahanap yung right term eh. Basta.

So I'd really like to enjoy my last weeks in college. And then enjoy April as it is the last month before I become part of the corporate bandwagon.

Hahaha! God this is so ewan.

of Rizal and women

Tuesday, March 02, 2010

Just finished reading Jose Rizal's letter to the Women of Malolos and for the first time in my life I was able to appreciate Rizal and his work. Grabe, so effective pala talaga ang PI 100 kasi na-appreciate ko yung "Life and Works of Jose Rizal" hahaha. Hanep na course title ano.

Anyway, yun lang. And in a way, I feel empowered. Because really, women shouldn't be treated as the lesser beings in this world. We were all created equal and we are not, in any way, less than you GUYS. Hahaha. Sorry na ang sexist ng dating ng post na 'to pero it's true naman. Especially before when women weren't given proper rights, when women were ignorant and just left to work at home.

So guys, treat women with respect. They're also meant to be your companions when you grow old. Don't treat girls as if wala lang sila, na you can just pass them around like balls in basketball. Hahaha. Parang may pinaghuhugutan. Pero seriously though, respect naman. :)

Let me just quote the great Jose Rizal (great guy but we all know he was an asshole, in a way, for playing around with girls' hearts haha!)...

And, why should you submit to another your thoughts, seeing that thought is noble and free?
And another one....

They [women] seemed faded plants sown and reared in darkness, having flowers without perfume and fruits without sap.
