shoes

when you've gotten tired of your old sneakers, wouldn't you want to buy a new pair of shoes?

so you go to the mall, and then you see this perfect pair. it's new, shiny, and much better compared to the old pair you've got at home.

so you go inside, you touch the shoes, feel it, enjoy it. you try it on.

but it doesn't fit.

sad as you may be, you have no choice but to go back to that old pair of sneakers you have at home...

and then you realize, it isn't so bad after all. it may look old but, it fits right-- perfectly, even-- doesn't it?

---

and thus arises the debate between settling for what you have or "trying" something new.

---

someday, everyone will find their "perfect old sneakers". though there are a lot of tempting "perfect new shoes" at the store window, we will realize that only a few will fit as perfectly as those sneakers. some new shoes may fit for a while but after a few tries, wearing it will start to hurt.

don't wish to be anyone's "perfect new shoes". be someone's "perfect old sneakers".

---

for those of you who have been someone's "perfect new shoes", well, to make yourself feel better, keep in mind that even for a brief moment-- for a short while-- you were perfect for that person and at that moment everything was real. it just wasn't meant to be.

sa mga "perfect old sneakers", congrats. napakasaya ko't masaya kayo. even if, as time passes, you all get worn out, at least hindi pa kayo nasisira.
